Baptist Theological School Publishing

As the classes at BTS grow and prosper, a huge need for good theological literature has developed. The dependency of foreign books has posed quite a challenge for our students, especially those who are not fluent in English. Thankfully, over time, God has blessed us with people who have a vision, desire and above all, knowledge how to put the work of publishing books into effect.

Academic Sermons used to be the only publishing by BTS, printed in two annual issues. The authors of the published articles were scholars, professors, doctors and preachers.

But praise be to God, our students recently published the first issue of the BTS student journal “Studentske akademske besede“, where the 2nd and 3rd year classes wrote research articles on a topic of their own choice. The aim of this project demonstrates the example of how research methodology is put into practice. The goal of every higher educational institution is to inspire writers to handle appropriate topics on the world academic level and based on a fair research. In time, our hope is that BTS will produce its own national authors and rely less on translations of foreign authors. We are glad that we can share these papers with you, and we note again that this is one of hopefully many future issues. The quality of the articles published in each new issue will be constantly improving.

Other than these works, which are a direct product of BTS, we are also able to offer books that deal with popular subjects and theological terms that are often unusual, unknown or poorly translated.

The school has so far translated and published two booklets: Enjoy Your Prayer Life by Michael Reeves and Simple Catechism for Believers by Kimberly Baldwin.

In cooperation with Project Timothy Serbia, we are translating 9 Marks of a Healthy Church by Mark Dever. We are currently preparing to translate Resolving Every Day Conflicts by Ken Sand and Everyone’s a Theologian by R. C. Sproul.

Everyone's a Theologian

In the era we live in, using the phrase “theologian” or “theology” carries a certain weight, complexity, and even philosophy. In fact, because of this the term theology is often stigmatized.
Many times this could be our experience too, especially when the person you speak to is a theologically educated individual. In our conversation we might stumble on “heavy” words we do not understand. It happens so many times that we can hear statements or definitions that can seem strange, or we may understand it differently than how our friend is presenting it. This can create an aversion and as a result the conclusion that theologians and theology is too hard and complicated for us. But, is this really the case? Who in fact is the one who can rightly be called a theologian?

If you have ever experienced conflict and uncertainty, or if you have been overwhelmed by the problems that you may have caused, this book is for you. If you are in that group of people who are always fine, we recommend that you read this book even more carefully. The saying goes that "the devil never sleeps", so tough moments and problematic situations could arise at any time in our lives. We want everyone to be ready when the pressure starts to grow…
